Over 150 artists from the Italian School of Orientalists are illustrated with listings of their exhibitions and individual bibliographical indexes. Their works, for the most part watercolours, demonstrate the fertile imagination of these painters. Some of them did travel to North Africa and the Middle East, but most worked in studios at home. This book sheds light on the different aspects of this Italian art which drew its sources from the Renaissance.
