The first reference book on Air France aircraft replicas.
The story of Air France models and toys brings together enthusiasts, specialists, collectors and all those who are fascinated by the beauty of aviation. With over 450 original colour documents telling the story of Air France through its desk planes, one cornes across some of the Company's legendary aircraft from the Farman 300 - Silver Star to the Dewoitine338 as well as the planes that flew during Air France's revival, following World War such as the wonderful DC-4, SE 161 and Lockheed Constellation. The more recent jet engined aircraft such as the Caravelle, Boeing 707 and 747 and especially the mythical Concorde, are an invitation to fly. But we must not forget the splendid cutaway Airbus series, revealing the refined interiors of these state of the art aircraft. The historical account of the model manufac
turers who took part in this incredible adventure (Fournereau, M.E.E., Bourbon...) enables
enthusiasts to find their way around the model making world and gives the manufacturers the credit they deserve. Air France desk planes were, for a very long time, the Company's main tool of communication which conveyed the poetry of aviation as well as its sense of adventure. The ones seen here were found in private collections around the world as well as in Le Bourget and Air France museums.
