Gerard Malanga Screen Tests Portraits Nudes 1964 - 1996

Gerard Malanga is a poet, an actor, a writer, an archivist and a filmmaker, but it is the photographer who interests us here. This book reviews Malanga's photographic production from 1964 to 1996, superimposing successively his essays, his portraits and his nudes. Among the famous portraits we find Mick Jager, Andy Warhol, Charles Olson, Lou Reed or Charles Bukowski.
The nudes are of great finesse and elegant sensuality; they present the beautiful, elevating it and carrying it high without ever showing anything else, nor reaching out to it.
The portraits are taken in the city, on the street, at home, they offer a very simple vision, as if taken from life, sharing with the viewer a little of the intimacy of the person photographed.
