Giorgio Griffa

Presented by the Centre Pompidou, this book reviews the life of the painter Giorgio Griffa, from the 1960s to the 2010s. Marked by a strong temperament from the beginning of his creations, Giorgio Griffa imprinted to several movements, BMPT or Support/Surface. Coming from the Italian avant-garde, he is distinguished by a radical approach to the canvas and movement. Proceeding by installing his canvases directly on the ground, he works with rigor his gestures, his movements and his curves that he repeats tirelessly.

This book offers us a look back at all the founding stages of the painter's career thanks to a documented work and very interesting photographic archives.
