Book prices are indicated in euros (inclusive of tax), exclusive of packing and carriage costs, in compliance with the "Loi Lang sur le prix unique du livre" (a law making it illegal to sell a book club edition of a book for less than the price of the original publisher's edition for nine months). The price of the second-hand books is firm and depends on conditions of purchase, the interest of the book, its condition and market demand. The works are invoiced on the basis of the prices in force when the order is entered. All orders are payable in euros. For orders outside the European Union and from the "DOM-TOM" (French overseas "counties" and territories), the price will be calculated exclusive of VAT on the invoice. Any customs costs and other local taxes are payable by the addressee who must find out about these arrangements. If you are a professional and have an intracommunity VAT number, the invoice will be calculated exclusive of VAT under the obligatory condition that you let us have this number which will be verified automatically (see the order table).


 

We have over 90% of the titles offered in our own stock, which enables us to meet urgent needs very quickly. The other items will be delivered subject to availability at the supplier's. In the event of unavailability after an order has been placed, we will inform you by email or by post as soon as possible. We undertake to refund any order which could not be satisfied. We propose titles of works " coming out soon ". These special orders must be paid for 45 days before the publication date given by the publisher and cannot be part of a grouped order. In the event of late publication, we shall not be held responsible. In the case of payment by cheque, the order will be processed only on receipt of the cheque. In the case of payment by banker's card, the latter will be debited only at the time the order is despatched.


 

You can pay for your purchases

     - either by banker's card: Visa , Paypal , Amex ,  Eurocard-Mastercard , and other credit cards . We have an SSL security system to guarantee the best possible security. All the data you input is encrypted and recorded on the secure server at the B.N.P. (a French bank).
     - or by cheque in euros, to be cleared in a French bank, made out to " Le Puits aux Livres ". The cheque is cashed with the order.


 

Carriage costs include a contribution to packing costs. For metropolitan France, all our shipments are made using "Colissimo suivi" (a fast parcel service). You are asked to contribute 6 euros for an order worth less than 40 euros. There are no carriage costs for orders worth 40 euros or more. For orders outside metropolitan France, despatch costs vary according to the geographical area you come under and the method of despatch. These carriage costs are calculated automatically by our software and put on the invoice (Colissimo International - A fast parcel service).

The books are delivered to the delivery address you have indicated on your order. The delivery times include preparation time + transport time. We cannot be held responsible for late delivery due to transport problems.


 

According to the French law (Code de la Consommation) concerning internet order, you have a right to send back the book. You have 7 days from the reception, to send us back at your charge the copy in the original plastic packing with the right invoice. The book will be exchange or reimbursed in the best delays as you decided, as far as the copy is new without any trace of use.



If an item were defective (except for second-hand books), we can exchange it or refund you for it, provided that it is returned to us, by Colissimo suivi (a fast parcel service), within a period of 15 days after the receipt of the package. Carriage costs, by Colissimo suivi, will be refunded to you. We will not accept any cash with order. The conditions of the second-hand books are given from 1 to 10 according to our own judgment.


 

The personal data that you input is necessary solely to process your orders. It is confidential. We are registered with the "Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL)" (a body ensuring that laws relating to information technology are known to users and to individuals whose details are kept in databases). In accordance with the "loi Informatique et Liberté" (see "Commission Nationale..." above) of January 6th 1978, you have a right to access, correct or delete this data. To do this, simply contact us by email or by post, indicating your surname, first name and address. If, despite the description of the books which are proposed to you, you want additional information, do not hesitate to contact us. If you wish to be informed either about titles "coming out soon" or about new books by "sectors", you can let us know. Since the image of the books "coming out soon" is not contractual, we cannot be held responsible in the event of a change. Any order implies acceptance of the present Conditions of sale without exception or reserve. These conditions of sale can be altered at any time without prior notice. The present contract of sale is subject to French law. In the event of a dispute, only the Roanne Court shall have juridisdiction.



- In conformity with European regulations, as regards intracommunity export sales to customers registered for VAT, and so that you can benefit from the tax-free system if you are concerned, please let us have the whole of your identification number. - Only numbers corresponding to the delivery details will be invoiced exclusive of tax. We will then reimburse the VAT, deducting it from your secure on-line payment.

All our sales despatched and invoiced outside the EEC are automatically calculated without VAT.
